After his tenure with Kable New Company, he then clerked for the law firm of Hebson, Liddon & Slate in Birmingham, Alabama while attending law school. After graduating from law school with honors, he took and passed the Alabama bar exam and was hired there as an associate. Kevin went into private practice in 2006, opening his own law firm in downtown Birmingham. He opened his Gardendale office in 2010.

Kevin grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and is a former member of the Huntsville Rugby Club. He serves on the Board of Directors of Gardendale Christian Academy.
